BYOD, CYOD, wearables tools: enhancing or limiting employees’ surveillance?

Workshop
Curated by the Lift community
Thu, Feb. 11 2016 - 16:30 to 18:00
Room 13, level 2

The work environment is constantly evolving, in particular under the influence of advanced technologies, and new models emerge: BYOD, CYOD or work from home, employees are now given the opportunity to choose the material they use to perform work or the place from where they work. Such evolution however raise legal questions that need to be carefully assessed and understood by all parties. In the framework of this workshop, we will review the new models of employment, address their legal framework and set together possible guidelines and best practices in that field.

Detailed format of the workshop

The workshop will start with an overview of the new work models that emerge and how such models are implemented. During this first phase, participants will be invited to share their own experiences of new work models, which will be written down on a board.

We will then give an overview of the legal issues raised by these new models, emerging new regulations and current legislative discussions on that regard.

Participants will then be split in groups to draft an outline of an internal work policy that employers could adopt to govern these new models of work. We will close the workshop with a wrap up of what was discussed and best practices in that field.
