Conversation Booth Description: "Death might appear to destroy the meaning in our lives, but in fact it is the very source of our creativity. Death is the engine that keeps us running, giving us the motivation to achieve, learn, love, and create.“ Caitlin Doughty @TheGoodDeath

From anti-aging creams to cryonics, society is in major denial about death and dying. In starting the Re.Designing Death movement we’ve endeavoured to bring death back into our lives - where it belongs. During this research journey we discovered that coming to terms with our own mortality is oddly life affirming and we’re here to share this experience with you…

For Lift 15 we’ve crafted a vivid and inviting space right in the foyer - the black box of the death industies turned inside out: a white cube with all the information on the outside and a cosy livingroom on the inside.

The pop-up Death Salon (located in the Main Hall):

1. ELUCIDATE Take in our visual map to look beyond standard coffins and wreathes and get the load down of the full funeral & closure process.

2. ENVISION Chat with us about death. Sound tough? Not with our conversational card game "Last Wills". Expect wonder, poignancy, puzzlement and bursts of laughter.

3. SHARE Envisioning your own wishes and ideas around death will only have real impact when shared, either with your loved ones, your social network or on our wall.

Our mortality matters. Let’s take it out of the void.
