Taurin Barrera

Explores the interactive connections between technology and perception

Taurin Barrera is an electronic musician and sound artist whose work explores the interactive connections between technology and perception. His work incorporates technology to augment our synesthetic experiences of sound and visual art. Taurin received his Master's degree in Electronic Music and Recording Media at Mills College where he studied with Maggi Payne, Pauline Oliveros, and Laetitia Sonami. While at Mills, Taurin developed interactive systems for creative and playful exploration of digital art. Most recently, he collaborated with Swissnex and Seeed Studio to launch the Data Canvas project. Taurin frequently performs and exhibits works in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.
