Bridging Makers Culture with Tradtional Learning Spheres

Siyan’s field of research is emerging culture and practices in making and personal fabrication. Drawing on a long-term involvement with alternative research spaces as Fab Labs, makerspaces and maker start-ups in both China and U.S., her research examines the intricacies of the innovation process to understand where and how creativity can be cultivated. Siyan is also making efforts on extending the makers’ culture to traditional learning spheres, bringing together different innovative sources to form a new education paradigm highlighting creativity and human nature that better suits the future society.
