Bio

Kate Darling is an IP Research Specialist at the MIT Media Lab and holds a Doctorate in Intellectual Property and Law & Economics. She also is a fellow at the Harvard Berkman Center for Internet & Society and the Yale Information Society Project. Kate Darling's current research focuses on the economic analysis of intellectual property law, her passions are innovation policy, rethinking copyright - and robots, having co-taught a course at Harvard Law School titled Rights for Robots with Professor Larry Lessig.

At Lift13 Kate explored what we all can learn from one of the web's toughest, most innovative and lucrative lines of business: online pornography. She also co-hosted the much discussed Lift13 workshop "Harming and Protecting Robots". Kate Darling will be invited back to Lift15 to participate in Lift's 10th anniversary celebration.
