Hack Education!

Workshop
Curated by the Lift community
Wed, Feb. 04 2015 - 15:00 to 17:30
Room 20 (Floor 3)

Workshop description: Discover the Hackathon experience, as you support edupreneurs with some of their toughest design challenges. Working in teams, you will be a part of a fast paced, open innovation initiative that helps education start-ups find solutions to address their most pressing needs.

Interaction :

  • We will select 6 education start-ups that have a design challenge they feel Lift community could help them address. At the beginning of the workshop we will briefly explain how the Hackathon will work, which will be followed by a short presentation of each start-up as well as the design challenge they need help with.
  • Once the start-up challenges have been presented, participants will break out into teams by selecting the challenge they wish to work on.
  • At each team station, there will be a easy-to-use guide facilitating the Hackathon Process. Individuals will have some time to reflect on the challenge and develop their own solutions, then they will have time to share ideas and collaborate to develop the best solutions for the challenge
  • Teams will decide upon the solution they feel is most appropriate to solve the design challenges
  • At the end each team will share their proposed solution
  • Facilitators will create a video of the Hackathon process and create some sort of visual for participants to remember the challenges and solutions proposed for each start-up… We could also relay to participants how much their solutions helped the start-up
